7:00–9:00 p.m.
This August, the Caribbean American Center of New York is teaming up with MoMI’s Neighborhood Council for a festive celebration of Caribbean culture, music, and cuisine. Caribbean American Center of New York empowers and enhances the quality of life for immigrants, minorities, veterans, and their families by providing access to economic development, education, health, nutrition, and other services. Spinning dance hall, reggae, calypso, and a variety of Caribbean music, this free dance party will feature sounds by DJ Mister Butler. Jamaican patties will be available for purchase in the Museum’s Mon Amour Cafe. This event is free. RSVP is encouraged but not required.
Learn more about prominent Caribbean performers through a gallery guide game of our Behind the Screen exhibition featuring facts about Sidney Poitier, Desi Arnaz, and Hazel Diaz. Galleries are open until 8:00 p.m., and access is included with Museum admission.
